2. Boot Camp – The diet here is based on a vegan athlete’s diet, except we use some goat and sheep cheese. The wheat-free, whole-food diet contains no processed sugars or flours, caffeine or alcohol. Although the calories are counted to a daily average of about 1600, the main focus is to balance the carbohydrate : fat : protein ratios in proportion to the amount of exercise you will be doing. The daily diet starts with slow energy-releasing breakfasts, dried fruits and nuts to snack on while hiking, protein at every meal, fresh fruit and protein rich recovery drinks after circuits. Recipes for all the food eaten on Boot Camp are provided for you to take your new good habits home.
